Great Location: the hostel was conveniently located near all the main attractions, making it easy to explore the area. Plus, it was just a short walk away from the bus stand, perfect for day trips to nearby destinations.
Lack of Social Space: the hostel didn't have a communal area where guests could hang out and meet each other. It would have been nice to have a dedicated space for socializing and connecting with fellow travelers.

The shower was absolutely amazing, with good water pressure and hot water. the room was always clean, and the AC and fan were a nice touch. the location was perfect, within walking distance of all the attractions in the area. Plus, the staff, particularly Mariam and Husein, were incredibly helpful and friendly.
Not every bed had a plug, which led to some fights among roommates. the beds also made a lot of noise and moved a lot when someone was on top.

I recently stayed at Shoki Shoki in Stone Town for a few nights and had a fantastic experience. The location was perfect, making it easy to explore the nearby attractions and enjoy the local food and shops. The hostel provided all the necessary amenities, including reliable wifi, AC, and hot water. The dorm room was spacious and comfortable, with convenient drawers for storing valuables. The cleanliness of both the rooms and bathrooms was impressive, and the mattress was exceptionally comfortable. Additionally, the staff, particularly the receptionist with short hair, were friendly and helpful. Shoki Shoki exceeded my expectations and I wish I had chosen it from the start.
I can confidently recommend this hotel.

My stay at Shoki Shoki was great! The location is perfect, right by the coastline and the shopping area. The rooms are spacious and equipped with a study desk and chair, making it perfect for remote workers and students. The wifi was strong, even when multiple guests were using it. I really appreciated the air conditioning in the rooms after walking around in the hot, humid streets. The private lock box and outlet by the bed were convenient and ensured the safety of my belongings. The hostel also offers laundry services and discounted tours, which was a bonus. I had a comfortable and enjoyable stay at Shoki Shoki.
